Top Shelf Joinery
Repeat customers and fireplace feature walls — Top Shelf Joinery's small team delivers bespoke results on complex briefs.
That said, both customers reference specific finished products (a gas fireplace wall feature, bespoke cabinetry), which is a more meaningful signal than generic praise: they're describing results, not just impressions. One reviewer is a repeat customer, which in a small review pool carries more weight than it might elsewhere — someone who's paid twice is a stronger endorsement than someone who clicked five stars after a single job. If you're considering Top Shelf Joinery for a custom piece, it's worth asking to see photos of past fireplace or built-in projects, and confirming the team's current availability given the gap since these reviews were posted.

About Top Shelf Joinery
Mick, Carl, and their crew at Top Shelf Joinery focus on custom joinery and cabinetry work — the kind of built-in, made-to-measure projects that require someone who listens to a client's vision and executes it precisely. The fireplace wall installation mentioned in reviews points to a specialty in feature joinery: the sort of statement pieces that integrate gas fires, shelving, or entertainment units into a single bespoke structure. Operating out of Wagga Wagga for around four years, the team appears residential-focused, working on living spaces where the finished product needs to look as good as it functions. What stands out across both reviews is the mention of a team — not just a solo operator — suggesting Top Shelf Joinery can handle projects with enough complexity or scale to need multiple tradespeople on site. Repeat custom from at least one reviewer signals the kind of relationship-based work that suits homeowners planning staged renovations or ongoing joinery upgrades rather than one-off flat-pack assembly jobs.
Best for: custom built-in joinery with a design brief, feature wall or fireplace surround builds, and homeowners wanting a hands-on team they can return to across multiple renovation stages.

What kinds of joinery projects does Top Shelf Joinery specialise in?+
Based on customer reviews, the team has completed feature wall builds integrating gas fireplaces, as well as bespoke cabinetry designed to a client's specification. This points to a focus on statement, made-to-measure pieces rather than standard flat-pack or off-the-shelf installations. If you have a custom built-in or a complex architectural joinery brief, that appears to be their wheelhouse. It's worth sharing photos or a brief to confirm they've handled similar scope before booking.
Who will I be dealing with at Top Shelf Joinery?+
Reviews name Mick and Carl specifically, alongside references to a broader team of 'the boys' on-site. Mick and Carl appear to be the primary contacts customers interact with. Reviewers describe the team as approachable and easy to communicate with throughout the job. Given this is a relatively small operation, you'll likely deal directly with the same people from quote through to completion.
Does Top Shelf Joinery work on one-off projects or do they take on repeat clients?+
At least one Google reviewer explicitly identifies as a repeat customer who has used the business across multiple jobs. This suggests Top Shelf Joinery is well-suited to homeowners who want a reliable joinery contact for staged renovations or ongoing projects rather than just a single installation. If you're planning multiple rooms or a phased fit-out, it's worth asking about availability and how they handle ongoing client relationships.
What areas around Wagga Wagga does Top Shelf Joinery cover?+
The business is based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, but the reviews available don't mention specific travel radius or suburb coverage. As a small team operation, coverage may vary depending on project size and scheduling. It's best to contact them directly with your location to confirm whether they service your area and whether travel costs apply.
How much evidence is there to judge Top Shelf Joinery's track record?+
There are only 2 Google reviews available, both from 2022, so the public record is limited. Both reviews are positive and describe tangible finished results — a gas fireplace wall feature and custom cabinetry — rather than vague praise, which adds some weight to the feedback. However, with no more recent reviews to reference, it's reasonable to ask for a current portfolio of work or references before committing to a larger project.
