Des Rix Homes
Des, Justin and their team kept a first-home build stress-free in Ballarat.
Only five reviews exist in total, so this is a thin base to judge a builder on. The positives are consistent: three customers praise the professionalism of Des, Justin, and the team, and two separately mention the quality of the building work. One first home build got a stress-free experience, which is worth noting if you are new to building. Nobody in the sample gives detail on pricing, timelines, or what happens when jobs go wrong. Before committing, ask for recent local projects you can visit, and confirm which named team member will handle your build.

About Des Rix Homes
Des Rix Homes has been building houses in the Ballarat area for around 26 years. Reviews mention Des, Justin, and a small team rather than a rotating cast of subcontractors. Customers describe the build process as professional and calm, which matters most on a first home. The positive comments focus on craftsmanship and the crew's approach to dealing with people. The sample of reviews is small, so treat these as early signals rather than proof. This is a new build specialist rather than a kitchen reno only. Ask who will run your job day to day, because the review praise is tied to a few named people.
Best for: first home builds in Ballarat, custom house construction, and local residential projects where you want a small named team rather than a large builder.

What kind of work does Des Rix Homes focus on?+
The business is listed under kitchen renovation, but the reviews point to new home builds as the main work. Customers mention building a first home and having their house constructed. If you want a reno, confirm directly that they are taking on that kind of job.
Who would I deal with on my build?+
Reviews name Des and Justin as the people customers dealt with. The team was praised for being professional and easy to deal with. Ask who will be on site for your project, because the positive comments are tied to those names.
Is there much independent feedback on Des Rix Homes?+
No, there are only five Google reviews in total. Our sample covered four of them. That is not much to go on for a builder, so it is worth asking for recent clients you can speak to or homes you can visit.
Does Des Rix Homes do renovations or only new builds?+
The category says kitchen renovation, but no review in the sample mentions one. The praise is all about house builds and craftsmanship. Confirm with Des or Justin before booking a reno.
