Merlea Carpentry
Tim keeps kitchen and bathroom renos on budget, with honest pricing that reviewers say matches the quote.
The pattern that emerges is Tim himself running the job from planning through to finish, with several reviewers saying he helped them work out what was realistic before building started. Three different people mention the word honest or genuine when talking about his pricing, including a kitchen reno that came in on budget with no hidden extras. That's the kind of thing you can't fake across separate jobs. The team gets mentioned for being meticulous and punctual, but the praise is heavily tied to Tim himself, so if he's booked solid that could affect timing. For a business only three years in, the consistency of full marks across ten different jobs is the strongest signal you'll get at this stage.

About Merlea Carpentry
Tim runs this as a sole trader with a team behind him, and reviewers keep naming him specifically for kitchen and bathroom renos. He seems to handle the planning advice as much as the building work, helping people work out what's feasible before they commit. A few reviewers mention him managing and coordinating other trades, so you're not stuck juggling electricians and plumbers yourself. Smaller repair jobs are clearly fine too, like mending a high lattice one customer couldn't reach. The consistent thread is communication, with multiple people saying they knew what was happening and when throughout the job. Prices are described as genuine and honest, with one kitchen reno staying within the quoted budget with no hidden extras. People also mention punctuality and reliability, which isn't always the norm on a building site. This is a local Redcastle operation about three years in, so you're getting an established local rather than a fly-by-night. If you want a bathroom or kitchen transformed without surprises, Tim is the name that comes up.
Best for: full kitchen or bathroom renovations, smaller carpentry repairs, and projects where you want one person coordinating all trades from planning to completion.
