CQ Shelving
Owner stayed back after closing to have a customer's order ready to load on arrival.
That's a thin dataset, but the positives are consistent in tone. Worth noting: one reviewer raises a serious complaint about a portable buildings purchase, describing wrong-specification windows, rust on arrival, and poor follow-up — but this appears to be a single, isolated voice in a small pool, not a recurring pattern, so treat it as something to ask about directly rather than a confirmed structural problem. If you're buying shelving products or booking an assembly job, ask upfront what the returns and after-sales process looks like, especially for imported or flat-pack goods.

About CQ Shelving
Dion runs this sole-trader operation out of Park Avenue and has been in business for around 25 years, which puts him in a different bracket from most short-lived shelving and fitout outfits in regional Queensland. The business name points to shelving as the core offer, but the Google categories suggest a broader product range spanning furniture and home goods — likely a mix of retail stock and assembly or installation work. What stands out in the small review pool is a willingness to go beyond standard trading hours: one customer arrived after the 12pm close and found Dion had stayed back to help, with the order already staged and ready to load. That kind of operational flexibility is genuinely useful for people who are time-poor or coordinating delivery pickups around work schedules. The retail-plus-installation model means you can potentially source shelving or furniture products and have them set up in a single transaction, rather than buying flat-pack elsewhere and chasing a separate assembler. Given the sole-trader structure, you're dealing directly with the owner on every job — no dispatched subcontractors or rotating staff.
Best for: local shelving and furniture product pickups in the Rockhampton area, homeowners wanting to deal directly with an owner-operator, and buyers who need flexible pickup arrangements around tight schedules.

Does CQ Shelving handle both supply and installation, or just one or the other?+
Based on the business's Google categories (furniture store, home goods store) and its name, CQ Shelving appears to operate as both a product supplier and an installer. One reviewer described picking up a pre-staged order, suggesting retail sales are part of the model. Whether full installation is available for every product type isn't confirmed in reviews, so it's worth calling ahead to clarify what's included for your specific job.
What do customers say about pricing at CQ Shelving?+
One customer specifically mentions 'great prices' alongside great service and products, suggesting the pricing is competitive rather than premium. That's a single reference in a small review pool, so it's hard to draw firm conclusions. No reviewers mention unexpected charges or pricing disputes, which is a mild positive signal. It's still worth getting a quote upfront to confirm costs for your job.
Is the owner hands-on, or does CQ Shelving send out other staff?+
CQ Shelving is a sole trader, which means Dion — the owner — is the business. Reviews reference the owner directly as the person customers interact with, both in-store and during pickups. There's no mention of subcontractors or additional staff, so you're likely dealing with Dion personally from first contact through to job completion.
Does CQ Shelving offer flexible pickup or after-hours access?+
At least one customer review describes Dion staying open past the 12pm closing time to accommodate a late arrival, with the order already prepared and ready to load. That suggests some flexibility around trading hours when circumstances require it. This isn't a guaranteed policy, so if you need an outside-hours pickup, it's worth calling ahead to arrange it rather than assuming.
What areas does CQ Shelving service?+
The business is based in Park Avenue, QLD, which sits within the Rockhampton region of Central Queensland. Reviews don't specifically mention travel distances or service radius, so it's unclear how far afield Dion travels for installation work. If you're outside Rockhampton, confirm directly whether they cover your area and whether travel fees apply.
