O'Brien Electrical Engineering & Contractors Ballarat
They find cheap fixes like a blown fuse instead of selling new gear.
The main good thing is that they diagnose rather than upsell, like the air con electrician who found a short in a fuse and saved the customer from buying a whole new unit. Clancy comes up for commercial equipment advice and Alex for fast oven repairs. The downside is that recent reviews swing hard between five stars and one star, with two customers reporting scheduling problems and no shows. The pricing complaint is real but isolated, so get a quote before you book. For urgent jobs, ask for a confirmed time and who is coming.

About O'Brien Electrical Engineering & Contractors Ballarat
The reviews point to an electrical contractor that does a lot more troubleshooting than the air conditioning category suggests. One customer's air con was saved when an O'Brien electrician found a short in a fuse instead of selling a new unit. They also sorted an emergency on a Saturday and had someone out within the hour for an oven repair. Clancy gets named for helping business owners choose equipment that suits their needs now and later. Alex gets named for diagnosing a blown oven element and replacing it same day. There are clear mentions of commercial jobs, including a workshop compressor that got a four wheel drive business back to work promptly. Reviews also mention the team dropping off materials and quoting before work starts, which suggests they handle the practical side of a job. The recent run of feedback is mixed though, with some five star jobs sitting right next to complaints about no shows and pricing. That inconsistency is the main thing to weigh up before booking. Ask who you will get on the day and confirm the callout time in advance.
Best for: electrical fault diagnosis that might save you a replacement, urgent callouts including weekends, and commercial equipment jobs.
